2024 Annual SVRTC Banquet

On March 14, 2024, over 100 SVRTC members, awardees, and invited guests gathered in the Soza Ballroom to celebrate 65 awardees in their accomplishments over the 2023-2024 school year from 22 school divisions: Amelia County Public Schools, Appomattox County Public Schools, Brunswick County Public Schools, Buckingham County Public Schools, Colonial Heights Public Schools, Charlotte County Public Schools, Cumberland County Public Schools, Danville City Public Schools, Dinwiddie County Public Schools, Greensville County Public Schools, Halifax County Public Schools, Henry County Public Schools, Hopewell City Public Schools, Lunenburg County Public Schools, Martinsville City Public Schools, Mecklenburg County Public Schools, Nottoway County Public Schools, Petersburg City Public Schools, Pittsylvania County Public Schools, Prince Edward County Public Schools, Prince George County Public Schools and Sussex County Public Schools

Welcoming comments were shared by Dr. Brent Roberts, Longwood University’s Assistant Provost for Academic Outreach and Dean of the Greenwood Library & Professor of Library Science. Dr. Paula Leach, Director of Longwood University’s ITTIP then presented to the group by sharing SVRTC accomplishments for the academic year. In addition to the list of 2024 Awardees, the announcement and celebration of the two SVRTC competitive awards were shared. This year the Technology Leadership for the 2023-24 school year was awarded to Dr. Chip Jones, Superintendent of Cumberland County Public Schools. This year’s Division Leadership recipient was Henry County Public Schools. A big congratulations to this year’s awardees.
